The Service class is a thread that allows complex calculations to be performed in the background.

An Intent is always used to start a Service.

The stopService() method is the only way to stop a service started with the startService() method

Intents can be used to allow a service to return information to an activity.

When a Service returns the constant START_STICKY, if the system must kill it, it will recreate it as soon as possible and pass the intent used to launch it.
